- Define the terms "risk factor" and "protective factor" and give examples of each.
- Draw the ecological model, describe each of the 4 levels, and relate it to factors that commonly affect health.
- Discuss how public health has evolved over time to focus on evolving threats to health, using both science and community action.
- Describe some key phases in the history of public health, and how the primary focus of public health institutions changed in each phase.
- Describe the purpose and goals of the Healthy People 2030 project as a plan for the nation's health.
