5. Do you believe your muscle mass or body frame threw off the estimation category?
Questions for Part B
1. If you are a male, is your waist over 40 inches? If female, are you over 35 inches? B1
2. Was your waist circumference more than half your height? B2
3. Why do you think “belly fat” might be more dangerous than other fat locations?
4. Look at the scales for Waist to Ht ratio where they distinguished slender and healthy vs. thin. In the BMI ratings, thin vs. very thin. Do you think being really thin is healthy? Why or why not?
5. Why is Waist to Hip Ratio not useful for many people? What could skew it? B3
6. Using the U.S. Navy body fat % formula- what was your body fat %? B4
7. What category or color did you fit into using the bodyfatcharts.com chart?
8. Why is the neck measurement used for both genders? What does it approximate?
9. Why do you think hip circumference used for women and not men?
10. Why is shoulder to waist measure used for male physique competitors? Is your body fat % and your BMI matched up with their categories?

1. Which frame size were you? Do you agree with it?
2. Did the rough estimate of fingers touching agree with elbow or wrist measures or both?
3. Why is wrist circumference or elbow breath used? What is generally not located in those spots?
4. If you were wide framed and added 10% to ideal body weight calculation, did it bring the estimate to a more reasonable number?
