In this chapter, we will discuss the parts of a prescription, the MA’s role in patient prescriptions, other types of provider orders, and documentation in the patient’s medical record. Medication reconciliation is an important task for the MA. The provider relies on the MA to provide an accurate and complete list of drugs the patient is currently taking to safely prescribe new drugs.
