12.5: Summary
( \newcommand{\kernel}{\mathrm{null}\,}\)
Employers have a responsibility to provide safe and healthy working conditions for their employees. Workers spend a good portion of their day at the job, and may have much higher exposures to health hazards at work than the general public does. When injuries and illnesses do happen, it has a huge impact on the worker, their families, and their community. Thus, protecting the workforce from unnecessary hazards is a high priority for public health, and promoting health at the workplace could have benefits for the company and community at large.
