    Meat is defined as the flesh of animals (usually mammals) used as food, that can be part of a healthful diet. Meat is a major source of key nutrients, such as high-quality protein, iron, and B vitamins for many Americans.

    There are many different types of meats but for the purposes of this course, we will be focusing on beef, pork, and lamb. Other meats include but are not limited to horses, squirrels, llamas, etc.
